If you haven't *actively* encouraged her, then it is normal *for her*, even though it isn't normal for large populations of babies. However, be aware that a baby who "sleeps through" early usually doesn't continue to do so; there may come a point when you are back here asking if it's normal for a baby who used to sleep all night to suddenly start waking up 3 times every night. So, I'll answer that one right now--yes, it's normal.
The only specific reason that it might *not* be okay for her to sleep all night early is that it puts her at higher risk for SIDS. You *can't* lower that risk per se--waking her overnight won't change the fact that she is still sleeping unusually deeply for a baby her age between the times you wake her. I would suggest, however, that you try to control for other risk factors. Breastfeed *exclusively* for at least 6 months (this is the most important risk factor). Be sure to only put her on her back to sleep. Have her sleep in your bed next to you. *Don't* use a pacifier (recent research showed that babies who normally get a pacifier are at increased risk of SIDS the night they don't have one). Do not smoke, and do not let any smoker near the baby at any time; if you can't do this, then require them to shower and change *all* their clothes before being in your house and/or near the baby. Smoke *in clothing* could potentially be a risk.
I bet that a lot of mothers are feeling jealous of you right now!!

All babies are different. My daughter started 'sleeping through the night' (from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.) at around 7 months. Some babies start sleeping through at 2-3 months -- some still need a night feeding for 9-12 months.

It depends what "all through the night" means. A baby only a month old often wakes up to eat. If she sleeps 5-6 hours, that's OK, but if it's closer to 8-10 hours, that may not be good for her. It rather depends on her behavior the rest of the day though. Is she eating frequently enough during the day, every 3-4 hours, or more if breastfeeding? Does she have wet and dirty diapers frequently?
I would suggest that you should check with your doctor just to be certain that she is well. She probably is, but do you want to take a chance?
Good luck, and I hope everything is alright.

As long as she is growing at the appropriate rate and eats well during the day, just thank your lucky stars that she's sleeping well now. Many babies sleep through the night at 6 weeks, and others still don't until they are 2 years old. Just be happy you aren't in the last group!

It is normal, although not very common!! My son slept all night since the day I brought him home from the hospital (I would only have to wake up once during the night to feed him)!! Just consider yourself VERY lucky!! Your neighbor doesnt know what she is talking about!! Congrats on the new baby AND the good nights sleep!! =)

My son started sleeping through the night at 2 weeks old. Its not bad for them at all. By prepared that they will sleep less in the daytime. I'm a firm believer in a schedule...My son is 2 now ans is still sleeping through the night. Down at 8pm..up by 7 in the morning. Has been like that since 2 weeks old. Count your self lucky. Your friends neighbour is just jealous

Yes, it's normal and aren't you lucky. Some babies just get on that schedule early. I had one who slept through the night the day we brought her home from the hospital. I had another that didn't until 7 months. As long as your baby is gaining weight, alert when awake, don't worry about the sleep patterns. They'll get what they need and congratulation on your new baby.

That is very dependant on the child. My mom said I slept through the night within a couple days of being born. Some children it takes longer to start sleeping through the night and others it takes shorter. So in my opinion yes it is completely normal.
If you are really concerned go ahead and consult your peditrician.

You're lucky! Usually they start sleeping through the night around 6 to 8 weeks but some don't for a really long time.
As long as there is nothing medically wrong, you are just lucky.
Tell your pediatrician at your one month checkup - I'm sure she or he will say the same.
