I went on a mission trip down there just a few months ago. Things still look pretty bad in some areas. But there has also been a lot of progress. Keep praying and sending help. There are real people down there still hurting. The family whose home we cleaned lost everything, it was a difficult to watch them struggle. Yet, in the midst of it all they had hope. Good things are happening, people are getting their lives back together!

I dont live there, but from what little I have heard NOt much has been done.
If there were a lot done I think the media would be showing pictures of the progress.

I think Its disgusting how slow and UNORGANIZED the recovery has been.
I heard that millions os Dollars in vouchers were given out for people who dodnt even qualify or live there. Huge costly mistakes.
They cant even decide what to do next.

Getting better I've heard, but they just called in the National Gaurd MPs again last week to help the NOPD control the violent crime... so it doesn't sound real good.

If another big hurricane hits New Orleans this season, N.O. will probably be in worse shape that it was in the aftermath of the last one.

My uncle just finished getting their stuff together to get out for good and he says it is still bad, very bad in fact in certain areas. Like still pulling out bodies and stuff. What a horrible, horrible shame.

It's sad that since the story isn't current, they don't cover it anymore, even though the situation has not improved.
