What happened, and who, if anyone, is at fault? Did Star go too far with her comments? Did Barbara Walters do her in?

I had the unpleasant experience of seeing Star Jones coming out to the Ivy in LA in 2005. It was so strange, she had her hanger-ons and she did the kiss kiss then the wave to the crowd. People weren't really admiring her they we're just watching her show off. That's LA. What a farse. She got too big for her britches, shes no Oprah. Besides TV journalist shouldn't become celebrities. They are a bunch of hams. Unfortunately, they will not go away because their egos won't let them.

Star is a self centered person who uses her "celebrity" status to get ahead (case & point: she offered free advertising in the form of a mention on the VIew to any company who donated items to her wedding to Big Gay Al). The View did their homework, decided that she wasn't good for viewership (afterall - they are not going to get rid of a good thing) and told her politely they would not be re-newing her contract.

Star had an agreement with Barbara Walters regarding how it would be handled. Barbars said that she would support Star if Star wanted to make it look like she had left out of her own free will (that way she could leave with some dignity). Instead, Star decided to get some publicity and blab "her story" to People magazine. This was in violation of the understanding she had with the show and so they asked her to leave immediately. She sucks... she is a phoney and a sore loser. Team Barbara.

On the June 28th show, Barbara Walters announced that, effective immediately, Jones Reynolds was no longer going to be on The View, except for segments that had already been pre-recorded. Jones Reynolds was removed from the opening credits, leaving only Walters, Joy Behar, and Elizabeth Hasselback. In addition to being removed from the credits, Jones Reynolds was immediately removed from the ABC.com website.

I don't why this is such surprising news...They announced months ago the Rosie was joing and Star was out...However that is beside the point... the point is that Star announced on the show that she had "decided" to leave teh show... turns out a week previously she told People mag. that she had been fired. Now there are two versions in the public eye and Barbra is the executive producer of that show...of course she might be pissed that Star claims to be fired then states she quit...regardless of the truth. I think that insane weight lose Star just went through that left her eyes on bugging out of the side of her head may have affected her brain function...just a thought.

Star Jones is an attention whore. Since her marriage she's been all "Look at me!". I don't believe for one second that she was riddled with any pressure, on when to release the news. She went behind Barbara's back and did media interviews which were released just before she made the announcement on TV.

I feel that Barbara Walters is a manipulative c*nt. She attempted to relegate when Star would expunge her own truths, then stated that she was "offended" after she took her own future into her hands. She went on to tell the associated press intimate details about Stars leaving, then stated she was attempting to "protect her." She goes on to say she wishes "Star hadn't left like that, making it seem like the show was being cruel to her." HELLO?? They fired her. . . And, Barbara has the nerve to get upset or offended because Star told HER business. . .

On top of that. . .Barbara goes on to tell the associated press:

That she(Barbara) knew since before Christmas, and didn't want to tell her then to ruin her holiday spirit. She knew in January, but Star's book was about to come out and she didnt want to ruin her high, and she knew in February but didn't want to tell her because she was having "plastic surgery." Talk about adding injury to insult. . .Barbara had no right to expound her personal information. . After saying she was protecting her. , what a B*tch. . .

If you think about it, this has been coming. . I knew it when they replaced Meredith with Rosie. . because the logical thing to do would have been to promote everyone. . Star would have been moderator . . but, when that happened. I said. . ."She's gone."

p.s. And, to the person who commented on wanting to have more "conservative/republicans," on the show. How incredibly dumb could you be? You must be young and naive, because the entire point is to have contrasting views. If we had more ignorant people like Hassleback I think I'd die. The ignorant Bush lovers in this country have her to look up too. . . leave us democrats in peace.

It's a shame. The show is starting to unravel at the seams. It would appear that Star caught them off-guard in spite of the rumor mill. Is anyone at fault? I suspect that if you were to point fingers, it would be to the person who hired Rosie. Egos and tensions are getting shaky. At this rate they won't see a daytime award for the 10th season, if it lasts long enough.

I really liked Star and would have missed her but it really doesn't matter because The Veiw was going to lose me as a veiwer as soon as Rosie O'Donell showed up. Can't stand her. I think it was pretty back stabbing to hire her knowing it was going to create the conflict it did.

I think Starr always went to far with her comments, and I think Barbara did her in by hiring Rosie O'Donnell .

I'm glad to see Star go. She is so overrated and I can't stand listening to her talk. I think the show will go in a new direction and better alot better. I would like to see hosts in all different age groups to have more diversity in their conversations.
