Ii'm taking my road test soon and I'm stuck driving a larger SUV. It's the only vehicle my mother has and we just moved to the area so we don't really know anyone. Sometimes when I do a 3 point turn I hit the curb b/c the vehical is so large. Is there any way for me to not hit the curb so I can pass my road test? And if it means anything I'm in NYS. Other than this minor problem I am completely ready and have had my permit for 8 months. I can even parallel park without a problem. The SUV is the only vehical I drive and have access to. Any tips on how to figure out when my wheels are close to the curb?

I have the same problem except I choose to take the SUV, it's easier to see out of. I try to adjust my mirros as best as possible and then mark a spot on the hood where i'll have enough room to make the turn w/o backing up too far into the curb.

Practice. Go find a dead-end street and practice...
