Actually, Rowling has said "two MORE" people than she originally planned will die in book 7. I take that to mean that she will kill Harry and two other characters in the last book.. I think she has always intended to kill Harry at the end. I expect there will be some sort of mortal combat that leaves both Harry and Voldemort dead. Who the other casualty will be, I haven't a clue.

If it's harry and voldemort i'll be disappointed - i think that this is way too obvious. Perhaps Malfoy and Harry? I think Malfoy has a definite alliance with voldemort, its been hinted at too heavily all through the books. Definitely Harry though - how could he not? Also the author wont want anyone to be able to make a sequel.

Harry and Voldemort. I was pretty shocked when someone told me this because I don't want Harry to die but if you think about it, it is a good solution if you are the author and you don't want anyone else to be messing around with YOUR Harry. If she kills him and then she dies, nobody will be able to make sequels of the novel. But Harry cannot go without a good cause and a good battle, so he is going to win over evil.

obviously voldemort because he is determined to fulfill the prophecy and wants to kill harry, and harry wont die. a member of the order will probably die and probably a weasley. they have been so close to the battle for so long that if they escape with no casualties it will be a miracle. one character got a reprieve, probably a Hogwarts student.
