I always wanted to go and walk around or even spend the night at the Amityville house on Lond Island, Newyork. I saw the documentary on the new release of the movie the Amityville Horror. I've read the book and I've seen the original movie. I wonder if such a dark force actually exists in this modern day. I beleive the house is still standing. Can anybody give me the address and exact location of the house and any details about its current statis? And also what is your opinion of the phenomena of the details of the Amityville Horror.

According to the below website you cannot tour/visit the house, because there are people who live there and make it their home.

I think evil does exist. I also think that people can be psychopaths, as I think was the case for the man who killed his family there.

112 Ocean Avenue. You can look it up on Wikipedia. There was actually a article written that the De Foe murders were committed in 1974 by the son Ronald. He initially said the Mob did it then pleaded insanity. His shrink stood by it saying he had personality disorders and was abusing drugs. He was convicted of 2nd degree murder. George Lutz tried to use the story to his advantage when his business went under and he went bankrupt. William Weber the defense attorney for Ronald De Foe concocted the story and even made a statement in People Magazine that it was a hoax. The house has had several occupants and they deny any such occurrences.

112 Ocean Avenue address has been changed to 108 Ocean Avenue

According to website who's link is below, here's the driving directions:
To visit the house: Dare to drive along the Southern State to exit 32 South (Rt.110 South) towards Amityville. When you exit the parkway, it branches into three parts. Be careful not to take the immediate left, as it returns you to the parkway. Take the center branch that places you at the corner of the service road and 110 South. Turn right on 110 South. After two miles there is a fork in the road, bear left and 110 South becomes Broadway. Drive down Broadway for about 7/10 of a mile until you hit a traffic light. At that light, turn left onto Merrick Road. Drive on Merrick for 2/10 of a mile and turn right onto Ocean Avenue. The infamous 112 Ocean Avenue address has been changed to 108 Ocean Avenue. The house is 3/10 of a mile down on the left, opposite South Ireland St.

I believe that the entity was in fact there and encouraged the boy to kill his family. You know they found some black goo above the parents bed on the ceiling that to this day they have never been able to identify. As far as I know, there is actually a family living in that house and they are having no problems. Here is a very interesting web site for you to read and see that will educate you on just about everything there is to know about the Amityville story. Crime scene photos (if you can stand it). This is also one of my more passionate interests... I really would like to know what happened, and if the entity still lingers.

That house on LONG Island does not exist anymore (ok so only the address has changed). Over the years too many looky loos in the neighbourhood. Also there recently was on A&E the first in-depth televised interview with Ronald Defeao ... the only demons in that house were alchohal and child abuse... one night it all came to a head and the family is dead.

First of all it's Long Island, New York. Secondly when the movie came back out on film there were hundreds of people going to the house. Yes it is still standing and it has changed a lot (in effort to get people to stop going there) but I'd fear for my life if you go on that block, the owners will shoot you dead. How's that for a curse?

The real story has nothing to do with the movie.. The family wants nothing to do with anything or anybody.. that is the family that currently lives in the house. Its all a big lie

If you investigate the entire matter you will find it a hoax. Yes that's right a hoax created by The Lutz's to make money which they did. Try snopes but I am certain your search engine will come up with several sites that all support what I just said
