I am going to have a harvest themed wedding the weekend of November the 4th, and I am planning to use pumpkins heavily in the decorating scheme. Are pumpkins in short supply after Halloween? Will it be hard to get them at that point or will the market be flooded with them and perhaps discounted?

I suppose it may depend on where you live.

I am in an area where there are lots of pumpkin farms. It would be fairly easy from here (Central Coast of CA) to order them directly from the farms, with a delivery date in November. You might look around in your area to see if anyone in your area farms pumpkins, and go to them directly.

Also, if that doesn't work, most pumpkins will actually last for months without going bad, as long as you don't cut them. Feel free to buy up a bunch before Halloween.

You could probably get a really good deal on pumpkins right after Halloween. However, I would talk to a pumpkin farmer or whomever you're planning on getting the pumpkins from beforehand, so they don't immediately throw away the pumpkins right after Halloween, before you can get your hands on them! You could probably work out a deal in advance this way.

Good luck! I love the theme for your wedding, it sounds wonderful!

Now, I'm going out on a limb and say, because your question is in the Atlanta category, to try Burts Pumpkin Farm or some place like that. I know that Burts will have them and you can probably get them at a discount. I think that it would be better if you go on Halloween afternoon or that night. Just to make sure that they have them.

If you don't live in Atlanta, sorry about that. You probably don't have any idea what or where I'm talking about. Either way, you can still go anywhere that sells them and get them that night.

I would buy them after Halloween. I don't know where you live but around where I live there are people who use pumpkins for Thanksgiving decorations. Congrats on your wedding.

Find a local pumpkin farmer and ask them to keep some back for you or ask for people to donate them to you when they're done with them.

I would go ahead and get them Halloween night or just before it. According to my recollection, they pretty much get them out of the store the next day

I KNOW HERE IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA WE HAVE PUMPKINS FOR A LEAST A FEW WEEKS AFTER HALLOWEEN. CONGRATULATIONS AND GOOD LUCK!
USUALLY THEY ARE HALF OFF OR ONLY A FEW DOLLARS EACH. THEY WILL LAST LONGER IF CLOSED FOR A FEW WEEKS.

I can go either way depending on how common they are in your area. If they are common, people are bound to have them left over for cheap but if they aren't as common than people will run out so they will be harder to find.
