The volume of a sphere with radius r is (4/3)pi * r^3. Your radius is 7yds, so the volume is (4/3) pi (7yd)^3 = (4/3)(343)(pi) yd^3 = 457 1/3 (pi) yd^3

V = 4/3 pi r^3
= (4/3) pi (343 yd^3)
= (457 1/3*pi) yd^3
= 1437 yd^3

Volume of sphere = (4/3)*pi*(radius^3)

=(4/3)*pi*((7yd)^3)
=(4/3)*pi*(343yd^3)
=(343*4/3)*pi yd^3
=457 1/3 (pi) yd^3

volume of sphere= 4/3.(pi). r^3
= 4/3.(pi). (7yd)^3 { don't put value of pi}
= 4/3 .(pi) . 343 yd^3
= 4.(343).(pi) yd^3 divided by 3
= 1372 . 1/3.(pi). yd^3
so right answer is none of the above.

457 1/3 (pi) yd^3 .... 7^3 is 343, so the answer cannot be that as well.

The answer is D

divide the answer you got by pi and use that number as a coefficient for pi, yd^3 is your unit and there you go.

2006-06-28 09:04:47 · answer #6 · answered by Marie W 1 · 0 0

V = (4 Pi/3)r^3 = (Pi/6)d^3

V = (4pi/3) * 7^3
V = (4pi/3) * 343
V = (1372/3)pi
V = 457 1/3 pi yd^3

the 3rd answer is correct.
