I dont want to sing something patriotic, I was just saying it was on the 4th of july because thats not that long from now and I still dont know what to sing. lol.

DO NOT SING SOMETHING PATRIOTIC, thats probably what 1/2 the people will be doing, sing something fun and that you are comfortable singing

I agree with shennie. I'm fairly new at being a local performer and folks like what I can put feeling into. And stay in your range. Words in high-pitched songs tend to get lost. You know they're there but you can't understand them. Just err on the side of being conservative. 4th of July audiences generally are on the older side and won't fancy to nasty language.

i honestly think you should steer away from the patriotic stuff ( don't get me wrong i'm patriotic and all ) it's just i'm sure others are going to do stuff like that..so be unique and don't sing something patriotic

It's not theater, but how about "My country 'tis of thee"? I sing but haven't been able to do this one for years. Always choke up and have to quit when I get to "land where our fathers died".

What about a medley of, for example, "Oklahoma!", "Kansas City", "America the Beautiful", "Rocky Mountain High", etc. that would "showcase" different states/cities?
