Yesterday I went outside to move the trash cans to the road and I discovered underneith of one of the trashcans a crap load of magets. So I am assuming it's coming from there, but how are they getting in the house? What happened? I don't know. We hardly use the door near where the trashcans are so I know they can't all be coming through the door.

Any ideas?

Flies and Ants always find a way. Spray the area where the maggots are growing. Cover any potential breeding areas of rotting vegetation or any other fly friendly materials. Inspect your screens closely and repair any holes or bad fits you find. Inspect the seals around the doors for the same thing.

The flies are probably nesting somewhere else besides underneath the can. It's quite possible that it might be the only place they are nesting, and they may be getting into your house through a crack in the siding, or another similar entry.

if you have seen maggots, then something has died an decomposed, prob a rat, mouse or bird, eliminate the food source, maggots won;t live long enough to turn into flies
