By this, I mean characteristics such as understanding, patience, loving, etc. We all know that characteristics such as these are important, but what characteristic do you believe defines the longevity of a relationship?

To be open and honest, to be able to talk to eachother without it turning into a fight. And being compatible in other areas of the relationship. Like being friends, and also sexually too. My previous marriage, we did not communicate to one and other and everything always built up into a huge fight. After 14 years of that we are now divorced. Hope this helped : )

Thoughtfulness, to stay mindful of your partner's thoughts and feelings, is a key ingredient to relationship longevity. Most of the foolish things that people do that ultimately result in the end of relationship all begin with a moment when we are not thinking of how our partner would feel.

If you care about your partner, and if you have ever seen them cry, then how can you do anything that even has the possibility of making them cry like that again? Remember their tears when you find yourself in moments of temptation: if you truly love your partner, that memory will guide you away from temptation and from causing hurt to your partner and to your relationship.

Sacrifice. You can be talkative, honest, trusting, and trustworthy, but if you're not willing to be selfless, your relationship can be destroyed.

You can be honestly selfish; your partner can trust that you'll be the same lazy uncaring person you started out to be. You can communicate and tell your partner how much you don't want the relationship to flourish.

Get the point

if it's true love, it'll work out hun. if it's not than it's buh-bye 4 him! & don't forget - it's normal 2 have hots 4 some1 other than ur bf but it's highly unlikely dat there'll be sumthing out of it - especially if this woman is married 2 a man. sorry 2 break the bad news. 4 now, i think u should just concentrate on u & ur bf & ur relationship, &leave the other woman & her marriage alone. but if u happen 2 like a single girl way better than ur man, than i can say dat u should go 4 it. best of luck xoxo

I have worked on patience, perseverance and prayers but I find mutual trust to be most powerful.
