Now that Vince Young is gone, how do you think they will do? Do they still have a shot at the championship?

If I said it once, I've said it twice... They will only go as far as Colt McCoy and Jevan Snead will take them. I don't think the average person realizes how hard it is for a freshman QB to success in such a big time D-1 program. The Big 12 is just to strong for the Longhorns to be anymore than a 8 win team being lead by a inexperienced QB, must I remind everyone about OK last year?? Freshman Rhett Bomar lead them to the Holiday Bowl, and at best that's the only thing Texas can hope for...

I think they will be a strong team (Mack Brown has recruited very well), but I just don't see a repeat, it will be very difficult to replace Vince Young. They are strong at just about every other position. Ohio St will be looking for revenge from last year's game, as well as Oklahoma. I see them going 10-2 and a New Year's Day bowl, top 10 ranking.....but no championship this year.

The Horns will go as far as their freshman QB will take them which will be about 11 wins and a Top 10 national ranking , unless McCoy or Snead can somehow pull out the Ohio St. game then it could be on to the National Championship Game again.

It's going to be a tough year without Vince. It's highly unlikely that they will repeat, but you never know. They have great players everywhere else, but they don't have a proven quarterback. They will be able to compete, but they have a pretty tough schedule. They play Ohio State early, but at least the game is in Austin, so that will help a lot. Also, Oklahoma is going to pretty good as long as Adrian Peterson stays healthy.

They will still have a strong team and program, but I would be surprised to see them repeat the championship title. But you never know, that is why they actually play the games--preseason prognosticators are almost always wrong about how things are going to end up. Remember a couple of years ago when they picked Auburn to go undefeated and then they start the season by losing their first two games.

Without Vince Young, they won't even be in the top 25.

Maybe somewhere from in the 20 - 25 range. Probably some worthless bowl game.
