Red - roses
Blue - my favorite color, happiness
Green - envy and grass
White - Absence of color
Black - Sadness
Brown - Interesting don't seem to have an association
Yellow - Kitchens ( most people I know paint their kitchens this color)
Grey - Nuns
Orange - a nice big juicy orange (the real thing)
Purple - Royalty

Don't you need demographic information? How about a simple random sample? You are allowing the participants to self select. Also, don't you need to keep records on these individuals for a number of years and don't they need to sign human research participation forms.
