I use to work in a fashion glasses/frame store. And I get that question from almost every customer.

The truth is that everyone has a different opinion about everything. What I might find cute might be ugly to the next critic. I'd say bring in your best critic and ask for their opinion. Because the sales people will be bias because they want you to buy. Unless you find a good and honest person in the store to give you the best advice.

Technically....a round face looks good in rectangular shape. A long face looks good with oval. Think opposite. And the length of the frame should reach the outside of your eyebrows just a tad to make it proportion. Thick frames makes you look artistic and frameless makes you look intellectual and thin frames makes you look like the average joe/jane.

Of course, this is just my opinion.

It would be great to find out if there was some face shape to glasses shape guideline.... I can never find glasses that fit my face well.

I have an oval face with round cheeks and my eyebrows are pretty close to my eyes, so whenever I put glasses on, I can't smile because my cheeks hold them up and they cover my eyebrows... it looks wrong.

To tell you the truth you have to just try them on and see which ones look best on your face. I've been wearing glasses since I was 8 years old (I'm 35 now), and I always have to just try them on.

go to a good optometrist. they will help you. Don't go to Lenscrafters or Pearle Vision, etc If you can afford not to, that is.
