Well your on the right track. If you are going to add a exhaust system I can recommend Borla exhaust system with the four chamber. You get great torque, sound and hp. Is your ride 8 cylinder and manual transmission, its the best way to go. Otherwise I wouldn't fix any car that is lower than a V-8. That would be waisting my money. I love driving a stick shift. I feel in control. Try also changing your transmission to a racing one. There great. I own a 1996 Saleen. I'm a speed freak. But my ride does have a supercharger. Everything you put in your car is worth it in the long run if you expect to keep it and maintain it. Good luck. I almost forgot try changing your filters to K&N filters. Good sparkplugs and cables add extra hp.

CAI/high flow exhaust is not a bad idea, so go with that. If you get a new chip, make sure it doesn't have a speed cutoff point. My cutoff point is 110 mph (tested that out personally).
Also, this may seem trivial, but check spark plugs. Some are designed solely for increased engine strength, sometimes as much as 10%. For a set of sparkplugs, that isn't too bad.

ok all the things that you just said is going to add minor horse to your car borla exhaust and headers will give you a nice jump. Get a port and polish. Cams, cam gear, ignition , plugs, and a turbo will cost you about 2500 for the whole set up maybe alittle more and your car will be beating mustangs , camaros, and trans ams take it to a shop and have it tuned then add a 150 shot of nos you should be doing 11s

Why did you ask this in Toyota??? besides, you could start with the basic mods: intake, headers, ported intake manifold, exhaust equipment, etc. you may want to get somewhat extra greater with a clean ecu and tuning, some headwork (cams, timing), etc... Or, you could merely dive proper in with a short/ supercharger setup... it truly relies upon on what type of money you want to spend, and how a lot capacity you want to get.
