American Idol had more people vote in the finals than in ANY presidential election. Do you really think that the other networks are going to ignore these numbers? Get real. I for one am sick to death of the whole reality TV genre, but unfortunately, I don't run a network. We need some people in Hollywood who came think for themselves and come up with ORIGINAL programming.
I'll still watch AI, but I'll never watch Survivor, Big Brother, So You Think You Can Dance or anything of it's ilk...

American Idol is ripped off from British TV .... Americans lack original thought. Many countries their own version of the talent show...if those kind of shows were dead then they wouldn't still be on tv ...right?

The American Idol show gets great ratings so they will keep it going and copycat shows also until people quit watching them.

i know. it's stupid. why can't the networks just hire some damned writers and create more REAL shows instead of all the lame REALITY shows.

if there still makin' em then someone is watchin, them INCLUDING you and about a million other ppl who arent sure why theyre watchin it either, they will continue to make them until theres no money left in it
