On the band saw there is an adjustable arm that supports the blade just above the table. Depending on the make and quality of the saw, there are two or three bearings at the end of this arm that the blade goes through. These bearings keep the blade straight and provide a back support as well in the better built saws. There is also a similar set of bearings just below the table deck to support the blade. These sets of bearings make up the Bearing Guides.

Your bandsaw should have three bearing guides one on each side to adjust plumb and keep the blade straight and one behind to keep you from pushing the blade off the drive wheels when cutting.

it is the part at the plate where you lay the material at to be cut where the blade comes up through the plate there is a roller that the band rotates on this keeps the band alinged with the top pulley
