I'm another one that doesn't like housework, and probably never will really like it. But if you can get it done before it piles up (ie, washing dishes before you have a huge pile of them with hard-dried food), then it's not so bad.

Music is a big help for some. And yes, believe it or not, sometimes it is easier to pull the blinds and curtains closed and undress before cleaning.

Of course, I have another motivation: A nephew who just had a large tumor removed. I have no wish for those nasty little bacteria to get into him!

Instead of trying to clean the entire house all at once, do it in 10 minute increments. Listen to some music while you're working. Or do some during commercials when you're watching tv. If you try to do everything at once, you'll just get overwhelmed and burned out. If you work for ten minutes a day, even if you're counting down the seconds as you do it, it will be more manageable.

I think most people hate the dreaded housework but think of it as something that has to be done. After it is all done look around the area where you cleaned and say to yourself "I made this place clean" then chocolate ice cream is an excellent reward for yourself. It works for me

it is one of the sacrifices we have to make in life. if you can afford it, pay someone to do the chores you dislike the most, like cleaning windows, etc. I do no t like it either, I'd rather read a book, BUT, i have to do it anyway. I try to do a little everyday so it wont be so overbearing.

There is this saying on meditation, walking meditation, to enjoy everything you have to be one with it. As far as doing the dishes, you smell the lemon in the dishsoap, feel the warmth on your hands ect...it sounds crazy but it works.

Spread your chores out over the week, like one a day so you don't feel like you do it all day on the weekend.
