Lots of hidden little treasures....

Antica Trattoria on lower Polk Street - Russian Hill

Pazzia in SOMA

Frascati on Hyde - Russian Hill

Delfina in the Mission

Jackson Fillmore in Pac Heights

Scoma's for Italian-style seafood

I avoid North Beach. It's mostly just meatball italian for the tourists (and no, it is not anywhere near Market Street).

Try Marcello's.

It is an old school place, buried in the Sunset district. It is usually frequented by older people who have lived in San Francisco for 60 years. However, the food is fantastic!!!

In the area known as North Beach--all you will find is Italian. My fave is L'Osteria del Forno--it's a little hole in the wall with only like 10 tables, but they have outstanding food. I also like Rose Pistola.

Run, do no longer walk on your telephone and get in touch with both a million) Alioto's on Fisherman's Wharf or 2) Castagnola's (Fisherman's Wharf also) to make reservations NOW. Alioto's is ideal on the wharf and is a company in SF. I could comprehend, i became born in SF and characteristic been to both one among those eating places many many circumstances. Love them both. Alioto's because in 40 years, its under no circumstances replaced. Waiters are specialist, older men who've finished this all their lives and stay to serve, because it were. they are large. The nutrients is classic wharf fare: crab, prawns, sole, crab/shrimp louie, mussels, strong salads, nutrients usually has an italian impact and previous formed italian decor. Castagnola's is impressive too. on the wharf yet no longer on an same street as alioto's. it really is somewhat extra foo-foo, besides the undeniable fact that the nutrients is about an same in type and attitude to cooking. neither of them is very formal b/c they prefer to charm to the vacationers in t-shirts and shorts, yet both are ordinary SF ecosystem and charm, large service, no waiting once you've a reservation (a minimum of this has been my adventure), and passable parts. they both attempt complicated to have each and every thing the way the customer requests. i'd flow to both one for my prom, in reality i imagine i did. oh, i merely concept-about yet another, do not even comprehend if its nonetheless there besides the undeniable fact that. observed as scoma's. on the wharf down from castagnola's, its somewhat extra formal (yet you'll nonetheless see persons in shorts), and they have seafood yet extra of a dissimilar menu. scrumptious! makes me opt to bounce on a airplane tonight and flow back merely to eat there! i imagine any of them would fax you a menu. strong success and characteristic an exceedingly good time.

I like North Beach too. There's a dive called Viva, which has great pizza as well as other Italian dishes. Their roasted garlic is outstanding.
