Some people even iron underwear and towels!! I don't iron anything. I fold or hang things carefully. I send shirts away to be ironed for £5 every two weeks. What's the point in having an iron?

If people advertise an ironing service, I'm going to use it! I work, and my salary pays theirs. They probably earn more than me, judging by all you non-ironers out there!

LOL! I don't iron anything! I've perfected the art of disguising creases mate, don't you worry (iron shirts? No! Stick a jacket on top of course!)

Because some people have respect for themselves and want to look neat and clean. Some, like my husband, are officers of the law and have to look their absolute best. He has 4 uniforms each for both of the departments he works for....are you going to tell me you would pay to have those dry cleaned all the time, when it only takes about 10 minutes to iron it at home for free? Not me. Maybe you don't care what you look like, but my family does. Now ironing towels and underwear is a little weird since no one sees those things, but ironing your shirt and pants shows that you care about yourself and your looks.

I know people spend four hours ironing on a Sunday for example...it's just a waste of time! I do iron my clothes because i have to, i'll look like a tamp otherwise because my tops NEED ironing. But i iron them in the morning when i need them.
I've got better things to do than spend a day ironing!

Some people are lucky because their mummys do their ironing for them, it ain't rocket science!

I think it takes the p*ss when people pay other people to do their ironing, unless they have a REALLY busy life, i'll let them off then.

Ironing can be theraputic for some people, it doesn't have to be a choir. Stick some mucic on or watch the tv whilst your ironing, you won't realize your doing it then and wudda killed two birds with one stone...not literally, unless your evil ;)

I don't bother to iron everything either. But I find it is much more convenient to do so when I need a skirt to be nice and neat, rather than try sending out for someone else to iron it for me and then worry about getting new wrinkles in it.

I iron almost everything because where I live the sun dries the clothes to almost brittle - even with fabric conditioner. My mum also advised me to add a couple of drops of lavandar oil to the water you put in the iron and this adds a lovely smell as well as helping me to chill out while I'm ironing! I'd really recommend this. (Only a few drops though as it get be quite strong!)

I don't iron anything, my boyfriend irons his work shirts, all the rest of the stuff doesn't need ironing, just needs hanging once it gets out the wash.

What if you were to buy new curtains for example. You would have to iron out the folds. Washing and drying doesn' t work well. And my kids are in boy scouts and karate, it's great for patches. Other than that the dryer is my iron.

You have a great point - I don't iron if I can help it, but some people enjoy it (my best friend for instance!) Maybe the answer is to get a really good iron....

I don't know why they iron underwear and towels. My husbands grandmother irons EVERYTHING! But I have an iron. Why waste money and have someone else do it for you, when you can do it yourself? That's just sheer laziness.

A stuffed toy I bought my daughter from mothercare has the helpful advice on the care label: Do Not Iron. Which is a shame...

i wouldn't iron but it bothers ppl who do iron
and some of those bothered ppl are my bosses
=)

ok i just read the input above mine... ironing at home isn't free. you had to buy the iron, right? and the ironing board? and you pay for the water you put in the iron to steam, correct? and don't you pay for the electricity you plug into? yeah it's not as much as paying for dry cleaning (debatable) but it's ignorant to say ironing at home is free (until technology advances to prove it)
