When Jesus comes back. Sorry to say.
This world is perverse, and selfish. There is seemingly no value to life at any age, we can let die, the old, the retarded, the sick, the weak and those without a voice. All in the name of our own selfishness. Only when Christ returns can this end. Is it any wonder we have such a high rate of suicide among teens. Our children are taught from an early age by society that life is disposable.
Until then we must just legally do what we can with in our own circles to try to minimize its occurrence. The "choice" one has is not to get pregnant. My question is, when will the fetal woman have a choice, to which the answer is the same I am afraid.
Until then a quote from Dr. Seuss....." A person's a person, no matter how small"

You, nor anyone, else can define when life begins. No matter what the courts say. When does a seed become a plant? When does a fetus become a fetus? There is no line in the sand. If you can call a fetus "life", surely you can say sperm is "life". It can be separated from it's host and live for three days. Should we start protesting against masturbation? You can trace "life" back further than a sperm or and unfertilized egg. Those were made from living matter, blood, skin, whatever.

Yours is a question of being able to impose your beliefs on others vs. others telling you your wrong. It's us vs. them, reds vs. blue, rep vs. dem, or conservatives vs. liberals. It's one cults propaganda vs. another cults propaganda.

Do not label me as one of "them". You may be surprised in what I believe.

It is not for you to judge people, that will be done when our time here is done.

Most people DO consider fetuses to be babies. The reason the pro-choice movement came about is women's utter lack of rights, including over their own bodies.
You would be surprised how many feminists are pro-life. The difference is we tend to focus on making the right choice as opposed to letting radical pro-lifers legislate morality. The reason I have been against the anti-abortion laws is that they tend to include other things, other choices, other women's issues rather than just saying that fetuses are babies/people. They often defy the fact that women are people, too. It is usually the radical pro-lifers that want to roll back women's rights.
For one example, think of what will happen if a pregnant woman decides to have a baby. To be sure, most people are not rich or middle class. Many aren't married. Most would not want to give the child up, even though that is one valid option. Do you also want to limit all of her other choices, too? Because that is the problem with most avid pro-lifers.
Many people who make pro-life choices end up with the same life they had plus a baby. So you need to be willing to accept there are all those other choices and make them worth her while before you attempt to legislate against abortion.
Just food for thought.

How about this: if abortion were illegal, and someone REALLY didn't want a kid, to what lengths do you think they would go to to get rid of it? The tried and true 'coat hanger method' comes to mind, as does the good old 'swift punch to the gut or three' method. I think it's better to have a relatively safe alternative. I myself participated in two abortions... and it's a damn good thing I did, because I was no where close to being able to be a good father, and the mother was pretty heavy into drugs when we concieved. My kid woud have been ****** up, and I'd rather have the chance to give my child as much of an opportunity to succeed as anyone else. Sometimes, abortion is the right thing to do, religious fanatic's morals be damned.

About the same time as the pro-lifers will be willing to get their noses out of other peoples wombs.

It comes down to a moral choice. And I am always against legislating morality.

Real freedom is about making choices for yourself not other people.

If and when the Supreme Court of the United States decides that life begins at conception, and laws should uphold that belief by restricting abortions.

Before then, that is a rhetorical question - an opinion.

I am afraid that there are to many people out there that don't want to be responsible for their mistakes and misjudgements. As long as this is so, they will ease their consciences by fooling themselves into thinking that and unborn child is not a life.
