what is the best way to defeat sepheroth in kingdom hearts 2?

i hear that after u beat sepheroth in kindom hearts 2 u recieve a hidden keyblade. i want to know the best way to beat him so i can get it

well this is the way i do it, and it's pretty easy. First make sure his first combo doesnt deplete nearly 70% of your life. If it does, you're not ready. Ok here's what you need:

Abilities:

- Retaliating Slash
- Guard
- High jump lvl. 2 or higher
- Ariel Dodge lvl 2. or higher
- Ariel Spiral
- Once more
- Second chance
- Glide or quick run

(Reccomended abilities, but optional:)

- Berserk
- Slide Dash
- Explosion
- Ariel Finish
- Horizontal Slash



Magic:

- Curaga
- Refectga

Items:

- At least 5 Hi-potions

- At least 3 Elixiers

Keyblade: Doesn't matter, as long as its attack has an attack of 5 or higher, but Oblivion is reccomended.

Extra Equips:

- Equip anything that has good defense


What to set your items and magic on:

L1+O=Hi-Potions
L1+X=Curaga
L1+Square= Elixiers
L1+Triangle= Reflectga


Ok. Here's how the battle starts.

1. At the very beginning, the background dims and he'll say "that's enough." press triangle, and you'll block his attacks. If you dont, it wont kill you, but deplete your life by a lot.

He'll then either:

A. Do a combo that deals a lot of damage

or

B. Disappear and knock you into the air

If A. Just keep blocking and after he finishes, attack!! Explosion deals a lot of damage at the end. If you need to use Curaga, go ahead. Your MP will be gone, and Berserk will activate. If you had berserk on, you could do an endless combo!

If B. Let him knock you into the air, and he'll disappear and reappear to attack you. As soon as you see him reappear, press square to do retaliating slash to break his combo, and then attack him in midair. If you have berserk and horizontal slash on, and your MP is gone, keep pressing square, and you'll do an endless horizontal slash, which is stronger than an endless regular combo. If you still have MP, Ariel Finish deals a lot of damage too.

Then after awhile, he'll do that annoying cheap shot he did to you at the very start of the battle. just press triangle.

After you drop his life bar by 3 1/2 life bars, he'll mumble something, and his attacks will change now.

He says, "give in to the dark," and dark orbs appear. Just use reflectga. Then he'll do the same combo on you. Then if you're close to him, he'll use fire pillar which lasts ten seconds. So don't do a ground combo if you have explosion, because if you do, he'll get you with the fire pillar.

(SECRET!!)

If you have a lot of defense, and Sephi's using his fire pillar go close, and press L1+Triangle repeatedly, you should use reflectga 3x, and if he's still there, one of his life bars go down because of Reflectga!!

After awhile, he'll fly straight up and say, "Sin Heartless Angel" Well don't wait for him to finish it, because if you do, your life goes down to one, and your MP will go down to 0. So if you see him going up, quickly run towards him, jump, then dodge jump closer to stop him. If he DOES get you with it, quickly use your elixier, and press triangle, because he'll do the cheap shot. Repeat these steps until like his fourth life bar.

Then after u dropped him down to his fourth life bar, dark aura will come out of him. Nothing really happens, but he'll summon more of those dark balls. Use reflectga do deflect them. He'll fly in a curved angle, and get ready to block. If you don't, he'll hit you, then do a devistating blow on you. If he knocks you in midair, just press sqaure and do the combo.

Then, he'll be off screen, and these meteors start dropping!!!!!! just jump and ariel dodge them. He'll also use Sin Heartless Angel in between too, so get him!!

So yeah. Just repeat those steps and you'll kill him. TRUST ME. After, he'll tell you to bring cloud to him. So go back to the place where donald's uncle is, and talk to cloud. Then go back to Dark Depths, and you'll see Cloud vs Sephiroth. Seriously, Cloud vs Sephiroth in Advent Children is better! Then they disappear, and Tifa will give you the Fenrir keyblade, which cuts your max combo by one, but has good strength.

i killed him at level 59 with this way bust it takes alot of training anyway here ot it:
i won't talk about the preperations before the battle just equip your best skills and the keyblade that squall gave you (can't remember its name) and equip soras limit that he does with donald and goofy cause sora can perform it alone and ezuip all your item slots with elixirs and make a shortcut for the elixir and the reflect magic so that u can use it quckly
when the battle starts press the traingle button quickly and then go hit him (keep the combo on the ground) and then run awayfrom him (don't use the skill that mekes u sprint far away only normal running) if he didn't disappear then u did it correctly and he will perform a combo that won't touch u and quickly after he does the last attack in his combo go and repeat what i told you you can do this tactic until you minus his health for about 4 bars then he is going to be stronger , when he uses his volcano keep sprinting and if he is about to kill you use your limit attack sice it is going to take your mp and then quickly use an elixir also another nice move is when he raises in the sky when u see him does the quickly jump and attack him and if you couldn't the after he does it he will do the move which you should press the triangle button to evade like the beginning of the battle , also when he disappears and come beside you and raises u up quickly press the O button to control yourself and then cast reflect which will repel his attack and cause dammage to him , that's all i can tell you.

I beat him at level 63 my first time. In the beginning BLOCK his attacks, you'll need to hit square twice before his attack his over. Hit him as many times as there are in one full combo. Stop. Block his counter and hit him again. If he gets you in the air do an aerial recovery and start to slash the crap out of him. In this game it's also possible to juggle him, but I wouldn't recommend that for a while, at least until you get the hang of how he fights. After the first part of the fight you're basically on your own, my strategy works for me and me only, because I set up my items and spells a certain way. The real trick to winning against Sephiroth is to fight him so many times that you learn what he's gonna to before he does it. This way you'll be able to stop Heartless Angel before he does it. If he does hit you with that attack heal quickly with something yo have on the shortcut menu and then start mashing triangle because he's gonna do flash. That's how I beat him the first time, he hit me with heartless angel and did flash. I knew right then and there that he was dead. Just be patient, the rewards are VERY nice.

Well, its finally here; Sephiroth. Let's get right down to business. The *
* second the battle starts, QUICKLY press the reaction command button. This *
* attack, FLASH, can not be guarded against or countered, but you can use the *

* deflect the move, quickly start pounding at him with solid combos. What *

* almost always after he finishes this attack, he follows it up with the *
* "FLASH" attack. So wait 'till he hits the ground and prepare to press the *
* reaction command button. If he doesn't attack with flash, then quickly cure *
* yourself. If he does perform "FLASH", then after you Block it, quickly cure *
* yourself. Then if he's still open, keep pounding him. If your quick enough *
* you can cure yourself before he hits the ground, THEN block and attack, but *
* it is risky. At this point in the battle, he'll use any of his attacks, just*
* keep using the strategies to dodge'em, then keep pounding at him with the *
* same pattern. You can get a good Combo on the ground and in the air before *
* he recovers. When he does, just watch for the attack hes going to perform. *
* ALWAYS keep your HP ABOVE half and use your MP wisely, but you WILL use it *
* alot. Also keep your MP up all of the time. This battle is hard, but you *
* just have to keep your HP up, try and take the least damage possible, pound *
* at him CONTINUALLY, but with caution, 'cause he can recover pretty fast, use*
* the "TRINITY LIMIT" to cause good damage and you can also AVOID damage this *
* way (except with "Heartless Angel"), equip "Finishing Plus" to do an extra *
* VERY GOOD final attack, and use your Hi-Potions when you feel your gonna use*
* your MP soon. Always use the pattern and take advantage when he's open

You must be at least lvl 75+, should have leaf bracer, curaga, reflectga, and blizzaga. Blizzaga is when he is when very far away from you when you cant seem to get him. Reflectga is when he is attacking you melee like mad. Curaga is when your health gets low, leaf bracer is to prevent from getting knocked out of curaga state. Just do what I stated above and PLEASE remember to evade some of his projectiles. Anyway, the hidden keyblade is called "Fenrir". It is better than Ultima Weapon.
