I was glad at the time, but looking back, I wish I would have chosen a different girl. I was 20 and that seems so old by today’s standards, so I thought I’d take a poll.

Well, I definitely don't think it's uncommon for guys to choose the "wrong" girl. Guys tend to think about the wrong thing when it comes to virginity, which is what they're doing instead of who they're doing it with. To me, it doesn't matter how old you are when you lose it, because it's not a contest. It's all about feeling comfortable with the person you're with and wanting it to be with them. I say to hell with today's standards because there are kids in elementary school these days having sex and getting pregnant - it's ridiculous! But somehow our society would rather have that than being embarrassed by a plethora of 25 year-old virgins.

I never was phased by my peers when it came to my choices. I lost mine at a fairly "normal" age, which was 15, and it also needs to be kept in mind that I am much more mature in my thinking than others that age because of how I grew up with a bunch of brothers who were pretty promiscuous. I knew I wasn't going to do it unless I REALLY felt it was right, and that's exactly what happened. I am glad that I did it, because it helped me learn even more (but in a good way since it was my own content choice). And, I haven't had any other partners since him.

I say, don't have any shame if you lost it at 20 - I actually praise you for that because most guys would have broke down just to be a part of the crowd well before that. But if you wish it was with another girl, just take it as future advice for yourself. You can't change what happened before but you know how to feel about it now, so I think that's what's important. I'd rather be like that than someone who does it with 10 wrong girls.

I was way too young (a week after my 14th birthday). I was with this "boy" (who was also 14 at the time and this also was his first time) from the time we were 13 years old - 19 years old. He asked me to marry him when we were both 19 years old and in college, but by this time, unfortunately, he had gotten involved with drinking and drugs. I broke it off with him. His Family still lives around the corner in the same house as when we were growing up, so I'm still friendly with them. Both of us have gone on to marry other people and we all maintain a friendly demeanor with each other because we all still do live in the same neighborhood, but that still doesn't change the fact that I do regret losing my virginity at such a young age.

I certainly would NOT recommend this to anyone. I believe that everyone should wait for the "right" person.

By the way, as a side note - I'm now 45 years old, so I've done quite alot of thinking over the years about how young I was.

Have a lovely rest of the day.

I was 25 years old.... I was at the top of Rendezvous mountain in Jackson hole, WY and spending the night in the ski patrol shack... I was a tram operator and had to spend the night there.... The guy I was with was a hiker left there by the last tram of the day... I told him he could stay there with me.... we watched the sunset together from the mountain top and then went to bed in the patrol shack....
Definatly glad I did it... the guy was hot.... he was from slovakia... we were together for about 8 months.....
I kinda wish I had done it way earlier in life... I really missed out on a lot of oppertunities by waiting so long....

I was 22 1/2 when I lost mine. He was 24. It was both our first time. Im glad it was with him though. I felt VERY comfortable with him and as did he. It was a night full of laughter though. I had the opportunity when I was 19, but waited, and I was glad I did.

I was 13. And no I'm not glad I did. I wish I would have waited until I was older to understand the concept. Honestly, I wish I could have waited until I got married. I know.. I know... corny!!

I was 19, and I can not say that I am sorry, but we are no longer together, although we thought we would be. I guess that I am glad because it meant something to me, and there is nothing that can change that!

I think I was 18, not really glad I did that today. But I loved who I was with, and to me back then it was worth it. But today I don't feel that way.

I was 15 or 16, I thought I was doing the right thing, cause all my friends were having sex, so I wanted to be like them, I guess pressure drove me to it, and it was the worst mistake of my life !!!!!!!!!!!!Since I am alot older now, I do know whats right and wrong, it is worth it to wait for the right person !!, plus with all these std's around I am happy waiting, for hopefully my Destiny !!
