1) Don't visit any site that could be construed as "adult," as they are likely to leave cookies on your machine that will facilitate your being put on spam lists for e-mail.

2) Make sure you're using a browser with a pop-up blocker.

3) Most browsers also have content filters; make sure they're set to their most stringent setting.

4) If you use a search engine like Yahoo, make sure you're logged in when you use it and that you have your user preferences set to filter out adult content.

5) Never open e-mail you don't recognize; you could be exposed to someone phishing for e-mail addresses to add to spamlists for solicitations from adult sites.

Nothing is foolproof except not being online.

Unfortunately, there is no way to stop *all* adult content. You can use any of the content blockers available but nothing stops everything. A sad fact of life on the internet.

For non savvy people, the best way is to get a filtering program, such as NetNanny or Cyberpatrol. There are many out there, you can do a search on such terms.

Good luck!
