His false anger over the New York Times article is quite sickening. Does anyone believe Al-Quaeda didnot know their money transfers are not being monitored. Electioneering again maybe?

This is a hard issue to take a side on. One does not want to give the president (any president) unscrutinized power, but, as a matter of self interest, one must also ask if a program such as the one in question, the nature of which might not be fully known, might have been better left unsaid, under the premise of giving the government the benefit of the doubt. Like them or not, they are charged with protecting us. And you are presupposing, though I would tend to agree in most cases, the knowledge of the enemy. If that reasoning was presumptively applicable broadly, I would think a good many criminals and terrorists would not have been caught, since it is implied they are consistently intelligent enough not to use such dangerous means toward their goals as money transfers. Since many have been caught, it would seem that reasoning is flawed in practice.
