There's definitely not going to be a bright-line answer to this question. I started shaving occassionally when I was 12, but I know a guy who didn't touch a razor to his face until he was in college.

It really depends on how much stubble/fuzz you have, whether it's corse or fine, and how dark your facial hair is.

I will say this for sure, though. You know that gross "mustache" that some adolecent kids try to sport? The one that the high-school bully in a movie always has? Shave that. It's not cool and it doesn't make you look older.
How do I know? 'Cause I rarely shaved mine. And, in retrospect, I should've shaved it off early and kept it off.

Also, keep in mind that you don't have to shave every day. Heck, you don't even have to shave every week. When you're younger and your stubble is first coming in, just shave it whenever it gets noticeable.

When whiskers appear. I had a moustache at 13. Do not beleive the tale that shaving causes hair to grow back thicker next time.

Check under your chin and around your neck... I remember the first time I shaved. Lots of hair there and didn't know it (real fine and not dark -- hard to see). You should probably start when your sideburns are getting long... unless you're an Elvis impersonator.

I'm 12 and I have enough facial hair to start shaving.

I don't really think that there is a specific age, my sons started shaving when their facial hair became unsightly and they looked ungroomed.
