I'm not sure what you mean by' weep'. Do you mean that it's exuding liquid or the tree is drooping? If you see drops of liquid being ejected from the tree, that would be aphids. If thats the case, start treating immediately with liquid seaweed, garlic-pepper tea, and the release of ladybugs and green lacewings. Citrus oil spray can be used for heavy infestations. Biological sprays are also now available.
If you mean that the tree is drooping, that's another matter. Crepe myrtle should be minimally pruned during the dormant season. By minimally I mean 6 inches to a foot ,perhaps. By leaving the stronger branches from the previous year you will cut down on the sagging produced by the heavy flower clusters. I assure you these branches are not dead wood and they will leaf out all the way to the tips of the branch. I am employed by a landscape co., and have seen this firsthand. Hope this helps with your weeping myrtle.

No its not. The tree is supposed to be pruned in Feb.-Mar. and when you do that, the limbs will get stronger. When you have a cluster of flowers bloom and then die, cut that cluster off so the next can grow. That will let the water from the roots, get to the clusters that are alive and make the tree stronger.
