okay i have a silver maple in my backyard that has these red and green balls that grow in clusters all over its leaves and i don't know what it is and it gives me the hebegebees just looking at them please help my neighbor has threatened to cut her side down she said it made her trees sick too??????????

Go get a leaf or small limb off, put it in a large baggie and take it to a garden center. If they can't answer it, call an exterminator to come out and look at it and if its something that they can kill, your tree should be fine.

Most silver maples get this every year. It does not usually harm the tree. It is a mild fungal infection, and it will rarely affect any tree other than another silver maple. All the silver maples in the neigborhood I grew up in had this problem, and none of the other trees did. Those trees are all still standing tall and beautiful 20 years later. It is essentially harmless.
