1945 Harry Truman had the Atomic Bomb dropped on Japan. You don`t need any frequency with that action, that was up there with the holocaust, but the world seems to separate the two acts of carnage.

That is a very difficult question.

All the Presidents that permitted slavery to persist and that actively sought the genocide of First Nations people are guilty of much. However, if the question is just in terms of sheer numbers of people killed, the choices drop down to either Abraham Lincoln, whose forces, particularly under Sherman, fought a brutal war against both the army and the civilians of the South; or Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who commanded our nation through World War II. While many of the killings in both wars may have been justified, it is also true that both wars saw a high rate of attrition among civilians. One need only think of Sherman's "March to the Sea," or of the firebombing of Dresden as examples.

On the other hand, if you mean which President personally killed the most people, the hands down favorite would have to be Andrew Jackson.

Lets see.... I think Andy Jackson killed a guy in a duel, and problably killed a whole bunch of Native Americans, British, and Spaniards ....All the Presidents who were Civil War Generals didn't fight, so they don't really count....McKinnley might have killed some guys in the Civil War.....TR more than likely shot a rustler or two.....well, other than that, most presidents have been politicians and not into actually going out and killing people with their own hands. Like our President Chimpy, for instance. If he wanted someone dead, he'd have daddy pay someone to have it done....he'd never do the deed himself.
