I'm 16 and 18 months older than my sister. We look very similar as we are often mistaken as twins. We get on very well and are very close...the problem is that I feel really down when guys I like prefer her to me. When we meet guys on holiday i'm always the one that will go and chat to them while she just listens and I'm the one that will joke around and have fun while she watches, yet they will fancy her and not me. It's really getting me down and I don't know why the guys I flirt with prefer her to me when we look so similar and yet I'm the one that talks...can anyone please give me some advice to what I am doing wrong please

Tone it down a bit hon. observe her and what she is doing right. Icorporate you into some of those traits. Talking too much ? Guys hate that

Preference is a personal thing, as is chemistry. You're not going to win every time, and you shouldn't feel down because some of them prefer her. They may prefer quiet and shy, because it gives them more of a control factor or present more of a challenge.
I know very well a set of really beautiful twins, identical, both very outgoing and very similar in personality -- but not exact in personalities. They have always had different tastes in men, as well, and each has also attractED different TYPES of men than the other. You can't define this -- just accept it. It's just a human reactionary thing and has much less to do with you than it does a base reaction from the guys in question. There's just no predicting.

I have read that guys (specially younger guys) feel threated by girls who make the first move and who are comfortable enough to speak to them first hand. Specially if they don't feel much confident with themselves and are still trying to make the leap from boy to mature man. They tend to prefer a shy, quiet girl. Psychologically, for them, in that way they feel more in control as they don't feel so inadequate and helpless.
In the majority of times, the guys that you flirt prefer your sister because it looks to them they will assume control more easily. Younger guys like to be more in control while they are still not sure of themselves and think that control makes them look more mature.
There nothing wrong with you, you are just more mature than them, because you already feel comfortable with yourself.
I bet there are some boys out there who are also confident and secure with themselves, and don't feel the need to control anyone or anything, that would love a girl that doesn't stand back and wait for then to make the first move.

I think most guys still prefer the shy lovely girl instead of the funny talking one. A mysterious girl creates an enigma around herself that attracts boys. Its like the taste of hidden matters instead of the easy and obviously ones. In my opinion you should try to be less obvious and pay attention to what your sister is doing better than you.

maybe they see you as one of the guys someone they can joke around with.don't be so flirty with guys some guys don't responsed to that they what girls that are more layed back and quiet.i am not saying be just like your sister because yall are two different people.someday a guy will come along and like you and not her give it time .

Maybe you two are very different through your personalities...sit back and watch the interaction sometime between your sister and the guys. I am sure you will see some major character differences.

you just aren't meeting the right guys, they may prefer her quieter personality but you can rest assured one day there is going to be one and more than likely a lot more than one guy that loves your cheery attitude and fun loving nature.....you think they may think you aren't interested and that maybe you're just a party girl not wanting to be in a serious relationship? just a thought....hang in there though there are lots of guys out there who want someone just like you and you'll meet someone when you least expect it....guaranteed !

Maybe they think you're being to loud and showy and that you have pushed your sister out of the spotlight. Because it sounds that way. And now you're jealous of her??
Boy's like confidence but not arrogance or *********. I think you need a wake up call.

~well the question is why is ur sister talking to them if u were talking to them maybe she just has a habit of stealing ur men or maybe u just pic the wrong men and should pick someone else u like but ur sister most likely wont~also u should talk to ur sister bout this and ow it bothers u~
