You don't really need to kill them. Even if you poison them, you've got to get in where they were and remove the comb, or you're going to have all kinds of different bug problems in the future (assuming the bees have been there for a while- long enough to make comb and honey, and brood).
Long story short, contact your local beekeeping association- they will have some folks who can remove them. Some pest-control folks can also work with beekeepers to remove them.

If they're truly honey bees DO NOT KILL THEM. Find a beekeeper organization locally - they will come get them for nothing. Honey bees ALWAYS have a home with beekeepers.
My guess though is they aren't honey bees. They're more likely Carpenter bees - which look similar. Males will buzz by you attempting to get you to back off. They cannot sting - there's no stinger. Females can sting but generally spend their time raising the brood. If you have any wood - especially uncovered wood...and especially on the underside there is a thumbnail sized hole they use that to nest in. Sometimes you'll find a trace of sawdust on the floor near the holes. Do an internet search for "carpenter bees" - there are ways to get rid of them.

Eww. You might want to try a professional - my friend had this exact same thing happen and they had to call an exterminator. Turns out they were making honey inside the frame of the house! It was a big mess and it was more than they could do themselves. There was 50 lbs. (not kidding) of honey inside their walls. Bees were buzzing inside and outside. Yikes! Good luck!

Don't kill them. You rarely get the entire nest.

Instead, call your local ASPCA and see if they know of any honey bee breeders. Most likely, they'll be willing to come out and get the nest for you.
