Engine 'mods on small trucks are usually the death of small trucks. If you wanna go FAST, and stay small, keep it conservative. We live in a day and age when the 'tuner brats are squeezing 1000HP out of 4-cylinder engines. This usually makes the 4-cylinder last a lot less time, but if it's power you want, go get one of the tuner 'zines that talks about it, look online also and you can find that kind of info. 8's are nice, but unless you've decided to go with a small 8, I would pick a larger vehicle, because eventually the torque will wreck the little ones...then your door won't close right, and it looks all bent, and it steers funny, then you have to get a new truck...

If something i'd take the engine out of a lumina z34 and positioned it in that very quickly vehicles for an early 90s v6 and extremely loud i'd race mustangs and beat them and sounded louder than them

have you tried jegs. my friend got the parts to put a 305 in an s10 and it didnt cost alot
