Because he is NOT HAPPY. It's not your fault, so don't let him blame you. There are many unhappy people who do not cheat. It's a choice HE made. He is probably afraid to jump in to anything with both feet, so essentially, you're the security net. Uncertainty scares him. Time for him to grow up. He does not respect you or the vows he took. Maybe married life is too complicated for him and he just wants a little fun, but you are right there and he could have chosen to be honest with you and told you what was missing for him, but instead he chooses to do that with someone else. Some marriages survive infidelity, but it's A LOT to overcome. You should go see a Marriage Therapist, alone or with him. I suspect you'll get a lot of info from that and if nothing else, you will learn the tools to get through this sanely. It is a long road, but you will find that you are stronger than you know. Some men are weak and get driven by lust for something different than what they have. Frankly some women make them pay attention even when they do not want to. The solution is to make him understand that he cannot get what he has at home anywhere else. That thought would help him pull the breaks. We women tie appreciation, love, care, devotion, happiness into especially the sexual experience. Most of the time a woman refuses sex not really because she is tired but because she feels unappreciated, taken foregranted, used or abused..so the sexual urge congils and it takes effort to thaw out, Sometimes it necessitates the hope of removal of the obstacle. Men are not so structured. Sex is like food. You get hungry you eat. You don't have to drive miles to get to a restaurant...if you get my meaning. That does not mean he does not love you. He is weak. He needs to mature to the point where h'll do the extra mile just because he loves YOU, he needs to exercise restraint because YOU are special. So make yourself special, at least help that fact become ingrained into his system...in subtle ways.

Placing a long recording, voice-activated digital tape recorder will allow you to hear all of your partners phone and in-car conversations. Make sure you hide it well. I have known MANY women who have caught their partners this way. It's quick, easy and much cheaper than hiring a detective.

Putting a Track Stick GPS tracking device in your partner's car also works but they can be pricey. Usually the cost about US$249.00 but they are no larger than a pack of gum and will track anywhere his automobile goes. Do a search on Google.

Lie detector test have become affordable and available in most major cities. Write down 10 "yes" or "no" questions and ask your partner to take one. They are fairly accurate but I would not rely soley on this method.

If you have exhausted all other means of catching your partner, you can fake that you know information. For example, you could say something like "I know what you've been up to and I am going to give you the opportunity to tell me the truth now. However, if you lie to me, it will make things ten times worse." Act like you have proof, act serious, and give him overnight to "think about it." Many men will lie to the very end but if you are a good enough actress, you may get the information you are looking for.

NEVER accuse your partner of cheating unless you have concrete proof because the majority will lie to not get caught and simply cover their tracks better.

Discovery of a post office box.

The toilet bowl seat is up, (men) and when you left home it was down.

The passenger seat in the car has been moved and is not in the usual position.

I could never forgive a guy who cheated on me. I would see him touching someone else all the time.

Because monogamy is a fantasy created by religious freaks in the dark ages to control our animal instincts. It is not in our nature to be monogamous. I believe it is completely possible to be happily married and still want and have sex with others. It's called swinging and millions of people do it successfully everyday. Of course swinging is not cheating, since it is done with full consent of all involved. Cheating is lying, whether it is about sex or drug use or gambling.
