I think to myself, being a Christian, how do I know that I am praying to the right god, that my beliefs are correct. I wonder whether Jewish people have the right religion or maybe even Monks. I am just wanting to know that I am doing it right!

No religion is the right one because the truth is, no one really knows what is the right and best religion, that's why there are a lot of different religions.
Just believe in the religion you are in, the religion which your family has gone through.
But also, be open to know about more religions as long as you don't make fun of them and respect them.

You know, all these stories of the Universal Truth do not contradict each other all that much - they are all right, particularly for the culture in which they grew.

You know you have the right religion when it feels right to you, when it answers all of your toughest questions in a way that you can live with and draw peace from.

God is great and wonderful and wears many hats. Religion is a tool to help us stay on the path of light and good. As we as individuals grow and expand we often learn more about our world, our religion and ourselves and incorporate it all together.

You are on the right track my dear. I started off Lutheran, was changed to Jewish as a child and by now have a very clear view of my understanding of the Universal Truths that I really love and can live with. It empowers me when I am down or in trouble, it comforts me when I am sad and shows me the way to fix whatever problems I encounter in my life. It is not Jewish or Christian but in some respects it sounds very similar to both. Feel free to email me if you want to talk more.

Peace!

Additionally:
Posh to the ninny above to says you never doubt or question god when you have faith in jesus. That is nonsense. We are hear to learn, discover, and question. The jews often love it when their faithful question god because they are sure the questioner is thinking about god and that is the most important thing sometimes. The strongest religions have faith in their people too.

No one can tell you which religion is right and which religions are wrong because no one knows what god really is - it's all personal opinon and experience and how one was raised. It's really up to YOU to decide what ideas you believe and have faith in - you shouldn't let anyone else decide for you or you will always question those ideas and never be able to relax and enjoy your life.

That's the only answer there is - anyone that says differently is arrogant and vain about what they belief and in Christianity - vanity is a deadly sin.

look at the whole concept of the religion itself.. a religion should suit human lives as it it the way of life.. god wouldnt created it if its not for human.. what i mean is the true meaning of what god asks us to do.. not by enjoying ourselves carelessly.. (i.e. drink alcohol - some religion allows it but some dont. then u have to look deeply why does 'some' religion prohibits this. a drunk person can do something damaging to others because a drunk person cant think properly)

you can also see the one-ness of the god itself.. how can, a god produce children.. He is a god. none the same with human should He be..

if u r seeking the truth, god will grant u the truth.. just be sincere and open your heart in searching for him..

Have you spent time with God? Have you spent time learning about Him through His Word? That's how you develop a relationship...spending time. And you can't get to know anyone unless you spend time with them. It sounds like you haven't gotten to know Him as well as He'd like you to. It takes time to develop a relationship, whether it's with another person or with The God of the universe. If you're not understanding what you're reading, ask someone who's got the spiritual maturity to answer your questions. Find out before you start questioning your foundation. You'll get many different answers on this site, making you more confused than ever. You need to go to someone in your circle of people who can help you with these issues. It's normal to have doubts, when you first start out. There's so much out there and everyone thinks they are the right ones. You have to go with what you know is the best way for you to go. You are the only one who will have to answer for what you do, and ultimately, before God. Since you call yourself a Christian, you need to go to the source of truth, the Bible. It's there that God gave you all you need to carry out the life that He's planned for you. Keep on the course that you started on. It's all worth it, in the end. <*)))><

Dear Soul Friend, perhaps we could all benefit by asking the question in the form, "Do all paths lead to God?" If you study all the world's religions you will find that they all have one thing in common, "The Golden Rule" expressed in one form or another, and the encouragement of "all to be love-in-action." Most religions are chosen due to the circumstances of the culture in which you are born. Seek the religion that has the path of a heart for you and you will be of true service to all lives you touch.

Simple, the proof is in their tradition. Did you know that there were over 100 prophecies in the Bible about Jesus birth that literally pinpointed the exact place and how he would be born? The cool thing is that these prophecies were over 400 years before he would be born. I am still a new Christian, but every day in my reading of the Bible I become more and more convinced that Christianity is the religion to live by, and the Bible is very clear that there is only one way to heaven. That is in the saving grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Personally, I don't think any of the religions are wrong. If you look at the core of most religions, especially the "major" one's, they are really not all that different. Christians and Jews believe in the same god and share the same bible, they just have a difference of opinion on Jesus. (I know it's not quite that simple, but that is the major difference in beliefs.)

I just feel in every fiber of my being that it is right for me. I've investigated others, and I didn't get that feeling. Now is it right for someone else? That is up to them, but I know it is right to me.
If it is right for you, it is fine. This is about a personal relationship, not a "popular" relationship. I will say though that I feel Christianity is the right way to go because of all the religions, Christianity has the majority (the largest number of members) of all religions.

I think there are as many paths to god as there are people and if you feel like you're touching god and being touched that Christianity is right for you.

But if you take the time to learn about other religions you might find some ways to make your religious life deeper or more meaningful.
