From an ergonomics perspective, it is proven that dark text on a light background is easier to read than light text on a dark background. I freely admit that the white text on the rich blue background looks cooler, but when you are expecting people to read paragraph after paragraph of your stuff that is not the important thing. You need to make your readers comfortable more than you need to catch their eye.
Maybe you could limit the "white/yellow on blue" to your top banner and then use black, navy or dark brown text on a very pale background for the main body of your site.
I didn't really get into the content. Once I saw the page I knew that it was eyestrain city. Free advice I can do; free advice that costs me pain? No.

from a content standpoint: 6.
From a design standpoint: 0.

Content looks good.... But design.. it's just terrible... colors are a bit annoying when you read... If you don't like designing or aren't good at it... try using a template..blogger has a lot of them...
