the "teen and preteen" section under the category of "pregnancy and parenting" is in regards to parenting questions about teens. it's not a section for teens to gather and ask silly questions.
a question for this category could be:
"my 14 year old is talking to someone online and i don't know who it is...any tips or advice"
then, people with informative answers would answer, like parents who have been there themselves, or just people who may have a good idea to present.
it would be great if Yahoo would make a teen oriented answers site.

O.k. you smart *** kids, then why under "pregnancy and parenting" there are categories for "gradeschooler", "newborn"..etc. these sections under this one category are fof parents to ask questions about that specific age group of kids.
so, if i'm a mom of a 9 year old, then i will ask a question under "grade schooler". if my kid's 13, then "teen and preteen".
get it???
i'm not saying NO teens allowed, just please stop with the silly questions that don't pertain to this category and section.
thank you.

I'm going to let this go to a vote---
the votes will determine the best answer since there are always 2-sides.
i agree that the teens should have their own situation on here...
it would be better for everyone, i think.
also, a teen mentioned their site getting bombarded with predators....
guess what, i've been online probably longer than you've been alive and i've never had issue with this. be smart on line and you won't have problems.
don't give out your email, phone numbers, real name etc.....

Hey "FYI" Yahoo Answers (Teens and Preteens can be for any one) Adults may want to ask stuff or advice about their kids. Or Teens or Preteens may want to ask Random Questions. Maybe they are curious about something. I don't see why you are worried about this. More points for you. Less for them. Oh and "FYI" Nice question asking here....Rule breaker! OOO And Don't Even Call ME A Smart *** Kid!

OK, teen and preteen is a subheading under pregnancy and parenting, so what, how does that hurt you? How does that hurt anyone? So, some teens ask questions that seem silly to you, maybe the question isn't silly to them?
Are you just being TERRITORIAL and that your big objection is that teens are asking questions on YOUR site? Are there so many questions from teens that there is not ROOM to ask your questions? I haven't seen that to be the case.
Or, are you some person who who is so OBSESSED with following rules that you are RIGID and INFLEXABLE?
If teens are prevented from asking questions in this category and restricted to a site that is just for teens, they will only be able to get answers from other teens. In other words, they won't be able to get answers from adults and health proffessionals who actually might know the answers! How stupid would that be!
I would encourage not only the asker to ask herself these questions, but also, all of the people who answered and agreed with her. I realise that I asked some hard questions and implied some hard things but I really got angry at this question and what some other answerers said that agreed with the asker.
After all, Isn't this category ultimately for the benefits of teens. If a parent with a teen asks a question about parenting and gets some help, doesn't that benefit the teen. Parents aren't supposed to have children to benefit themselves, but to benefit the next generation. If a teen asks a question about something other than pregnancy and gets a correct and helpful answer, isn't that a good thing?
I am not a kid. I am a 63 year old who used to work as a
Registered Nurse for over 25 years. About 20 of those years I worked on a psychiatric unit in a hospital. At least 2 of those years, I worked on an adolescent psych/chem. dep. unit.
I check out this section at times because some teens have problems that I think I can help with. If I see a frivolous question, I don't answer it. If I see an obscene question that is meant to be provocative, I report it. You can do those things too. If it doesn't get my undies in a bundle, why should it do that to yours.
So teens I would encourage you to ask questions that you need to ask. I can't promise you that I will know the answer or even that I will see the the question, but their may be a teen, a parent, or some other health professional that will.

It doesn't bother the parents if teens and preteens come and ask questions on here. Some do have valid questions. Obviously some aren't, but freedom of speech and whatnot, right. There aren't that many questions in this section about parenting teens, so if these teens want to ask a question to a group of people who won't be prejudiced about it by what they already know about the person, then why not. it doesn't mess anything up for you.
And blowing off steam isn't a valid use of Yahoo answers.

I most effective reply questions whilst I have a specific query which ordinarily method no longer asking it on this phase however different sections. When I have requested them on right here it's ordinarily after studying whatever any one else has written after which it has had me wondering an additional part of it. I requested a query the opposite day whilst I noticed a Pakistan member bagging out my group after which it received the query of which participant has performed probably the most suits scan suits with out ever gambling a scan within the nation they're a citizen of? Funny sufficient that individual who prompted the query unhealthy mouthed me within the query. I reply inquiries to support with specific questions and only for the sake of answering for the trolling questions. I simply reply any I can deliver a specific reply to and ones wherein I desire to factor out a few lacking data or dilusions aspects of view in the case of anti-an additional nation view. Some have mentioned ago that I had been "Anti-Indian" with my solutions, however reality is that I am on the whole sticking up for Indian's in the case of the fool who posts the anti-India garbage who folks declare is Irish. The consumer is certainly no longer Irish and not one of the manourisms are compatible with the ones which Irish folks by and large show.

That has been bothering me for awhile, now! Teens and tweens think its a section all for themselves!
You are right, it is under a sub-heading "Pregnancy and Parenting" meaning that this section is for Parents who HAVE teens and pre-teens!!
Although, in today's messed-up society, it is often an outlet for teens and pre-teens who ARE pregnant!
Sick world!
Although I have no problems with MATURE teens and pre-teens coming here for advice, especially about pregnancy, because there are a lot of educated people who can help them.
Wouldn't that be hilarious if the newborn section started having questions on it like, " Why does my mommy keep feeding me smashed peas! I want the pears!" (Just kidding, they can't type yet!)

I would like to voice my opinion that I don't like having the Teen category under parenting.... where can the TEENS speak out? Not to mention the "ramdom Qs" some people gotta ask.
WE NEED OUR OWN CATEGORY!
Everyone take a good look at us... we are the teens of the 21st century!! Where can we go to ask our own advice from other teens? This is Yahoo's fault for making this a parent-related link. And I KNOW you parents can go to many other related links... but this should be ours. note: ** "teens and preteens" **
So for now you'll have to deal with it...tuff.

Thank you Joey!!!!!! It's about time someone else got the point of this section. A lot of teens don't realize that yahoo took out all their TEEN sections because they are tired of being held responsible because of stupid parents that don't know how to monitor their kids. I'm glad someone is with me about what this section is meant to be used for.

O for goodness sake calm down. Do you really expect for people to use every catergory for what its really for. Of course not. If there's no type of "blocker" to stop irrelevant questions, then honey they are going to be asked. What are you anyway, the yahoo ask a question spokesperson. Did YOU make up this site. No, you didn't so get over it for Pete's sake.
