I just began reading Jonathan Strange and Mr.Norrel and am loving every wry word of it. A friend recommended it to me, stating that it was Harry Potter for grownups. Now I am a huge fan of HP as well as being a grown-up, so don't think I'm frowning upon the former.
All in all a great book, witty and engrossing.

I'm about halfway through _Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell_ now, and I'm enjoying it, even though it was slow to get going and took me a while to get into. It's definitely not a fantasy book in the Harry Potter sense, so you'll be disappointed if you expect constant action. It's much more of a Jane Austen-style historical novel of manners, with magic happening in the background. The goofy fake footnotes are the best part.

I read Johnathan Strange & Mr Norrell, but I was quite disappointed. I didn't think it was that good a book.
