Right-click on the word 'start', click 'explore', and you should be in windows explorer with 'start menu' highlighted. In the right (big) part of the window will be a folder called 'Programs'. This is the sub-menu from your start menu. Note - Some programs installed are available to all users, this only shows the start menu of the current user. If a program is accessible to all users, it's shortcut will not show up here. To see the rest of the programs in the programs folder right-click on start, click 'explore all users' instead of just 'explore'. Be careful what you delete in this second mode. It affects all user accounts on the computer.

start files? If you are looking for the startup folder, Start-->All Programs -->Startup. These are the programs that will start running when windows starts. To remove them just right-click and select delete (this will only remove them from startup not uninstall the program).
