Here is some brief information on each of the fathers and the namesakes of the celebrities you mention above.

Freddie Prinze (June 22, 1954 – January 29, 1977) was an American stand-up comedian and actor. He was of Puerto Rican descent on his mother's side and German on his father's side. Although he would claim his father was a 'Hungarian Jew', his father was actually a German Lutheran; He referred to himself as a "Hungarican." In his short career he was best known as the star of Chico and the Man. He was the father of actor Freddie Prinze, Jr.

Robert Downey Sr. (born in 1937), born Robert John Elias Jr., is an actor, writer and director. He is best known as the director and writer of the cult classic feature film Putney Swope. Father of Robert Downey Jr. he began directing low budget independent films in the early 1960s. Putney Swope a biting satire on the New York Madison Avenue advertising agency business was his first film to receive a major release by Don Rugoff.

Harry Connick, Sr. was the successor to Jim Garrison as the district attorney of the city of New Orleans. He argued the case of Connick v. Myers, 461 U.S. 138 (1983) before the United States Supreme Court. In 1989, Connick and actor Paul Burke were indicted on racketeering charges of aiding and abetting a gambling operation by returning gambling records to an arrested gambler. [1] He and Burke were acquitted of all charges after a seven-week trial. After his retirement, Harry Connick was succeeded as District Attorney by Eddie Jordan. Connick's son, Harry Connick, Jr. is a successful singer, pianist, actor, and humanitarian. Like his famous son, the elder Connick is also a singer of some note, long performing a few nights a week at local clubs as a hobby.

Hope this helps!!!

They are "Jr." because that is their name.

Freddie Prinze was an actor on a sitcom called "Chico and the Man", which I loved as a kid. He died (committed suicide, I think). He was really funny.

Robert Downey's dad wasn't famous, but was pretty well known.

Don't know about Connick's dad... all that talent had to come from somewhere though, I guess...

well, i don't think their fathers have to be famous for them to be juniors, but Freddie Prinze's dad was a comedian from the seventies who tragically committed suicide at the beginning of his popularity, Robert Downey's dad is a director, and I am not sure about Harry Connick's pop.

another famous junior: Frank Sinatra Jr (obvious who his father is)

Robert Downey-actor - with a bad drug habit that has got him in problems with the law (and I think he has had a couple of DUI's) - if you look in google images I know you will recognize him

Harry Connick is a singer - from New Orleans - he is very good if you like Jazz - but with a modern type to it. He is great. I have all his albums. Also, he has acted in a couple of movies and the sitcome "Grace and something else" (can't remember the name of the show...and it just went off this past season..oops)
