Has to be the murder of John Lennon in December, 1980. He was way too young when he was taken from us at age of 40. Literally, "Imagine" what music could have come from him.

I think Mt. St.Helens did blow in 80. or 81 at the latest. We were in the path of the ash. It fell on us for 3 days non stop. Fun at first. Dry and dirty and tiresome by the 3rd day. Couldn't drive anywhere because it would ruin your carbuerator. Had a lot of pot lucks in the neighborhood cause we couldn't go grocery shopping. A crazy time.
