I was thinking about finishing a basement at my rehab house. It would give it a room for the furnace and laundry app., another bedroom (making it 3 beds). I would also put in a bathroom and possibly a dry bar. Is this a lot of work? And would it be worth it?

I easily ought to believe fr2fish (do not hand him your debit card besides the undeniable fact that). If through 'blown in insulation' you recommend the shredded paper stuff in a basement, that only would not settle properly with me (moisture/insects/mould). The basement will finally leak. That stuff is very last motel in uncomplicated phrases, for my section. If the blown in needed for use i'd easily positioned some -thick plastic between the the exterior wall and the insulation-. Then if there is leakage it will be ported to the floor extremely than soak your insulation and interior wall. How can or not it really is blown in yet no drywall? i guess I ignored something. i'd save asking round besides the undeniable fact that. i'm optimistic there turned right into a reason behind the present structure. I took a short damage and got here up with this, in case you run the 2x4's horizontally and flat on good of the vertical studs, scabbed behind on the ends....it would take a lot less timber? this may trojan horse me all day thanx for the question. i will probably replace my answer later in the day.
