I think it's different for everyone. I've heard some girls say it hurt a lot.
But I got mine pierced when I was 18 and I didn't feel a thing. It was done by a professional so I don't know if that might make a difference.
Afterwards I experienced some soreness around that area. It was a little painful to sit and when clothes touched the area, it hurt a little.
But it's not anything to be afraid of. Just make sure you get it done by someone who knows what they are doing. And make sure you clean it well everyday. Otherwise you could get a nasty infection.
Good luck :)

My ear piercings hurts 20 times more than my belly. If that tells you anything. If you go to a professional, it will only sting. If you follow through with the instructions, it will not become infected. Mine didn't. It only hurt a second when he did it, then it never hurt again. Your cousin may be allergic to the metal or something.

It depends on your tolerance for pain. I have a high tolerance...so no it didn't really hurt...just a quick sting.
BUT...they do get irritated easily. I had mine for 4 years and eventually took it out because it was a pain in the butt...or the belly. I know a lot of people with them or who have had them...and more people have had problems with the belly button piercing than any other piercings.

Coming from someone who hasn't ever had their piercings numbed. no longer somewhat, you sense a pinch going into your abdomen, type of humorous too. It damage merely abit, besides the undeniable fact that it really is nicely worth it, thoroughly! in case you get it finished, you should actually clean it out with warm water and positioned some salt into it. it received't get contaminated that way.

I don't have one personally, but I bet just about anytime you pierce a metal spike into your flesh and have it come out a different location It's bound to sting.

yes, it's hurts pretty badly while you're getting it done, and it is pretty sore for a while. i have heard that they easily get infected if you don't keep it clean, and keeping it clean is painful... i advise you not to get one. (i've never regretted letting mine close up.) buy a cute belt instead.
