You might speak to someone at your local high school or vocational college near you. They might work on it for free while teaching students. Not sure if you'd have to pay for parts and I'm sure there is a risk factor somewhere. Worth a try though!

look for a school with a auto mechanics program. it may take them some time but they are learning.
