So Im 59, extensively skilled in executive management and cant, for the life of me, land an appropriate job. I'm just about to file a discrimination complaint (not normally my style) but Im so exasperated! Anyone out there got advice or experience with age discriminsation issues?

I am 56 and face the same problem. Is everyone looking for Malibu Barbie? What's wrong with Barbie's Grandma? File the complaint. Stand up for yourself. Don't give up!

Good you should file a complaint. However it will be hard to prove it was your age that didn't get you the job. there are so many reasons that they will give. Company's say they don't discriminate but they do all the time, women and age are the big ones and the ones that are the hardest to prove. Good Luck!

Thank you for the answer to my question. Suing for age discrimination is very hard & long. A employer can come up with100 reasons why you were not hired. I contacted the employer who turned me down and asked why? he finally said it was my health. I have had 3 heart attacks.Thats why I was not hired. At least I know//
