IF YOU ARE A UNIONIZED WORKER THE COMPANY MUST GIVE THE UNION PROPER NOTICE BEFORE THEY ARE INSTALLED.

I THINK SOMEONE IS TELLING THE BOSS ABOUT YOUR CONVERSATION. YOU SHOULD WATCH WHAT YOU SAY AT WORK. NOT EVERY ONE CAN BE TRUSTED.

Remember, that what goes on in your boss' workplace, on your boss' time is your boss' business. You don't have a reasonable expectation of privacy. Some of the protections you expect from the government don't always apply in the workplace. Your boss can place cameras, recorders, taps on HIS phones and HIS computers.

You CAN have a reasonable expectation of privacy in a restroom, or dressing room, but not anywhere else. Your employer has a right to protect his property, his assets and his company's good name.

Is it moral to do this? That might be open to discussion. Certainly one would hope that the employer at least informs the employees that their workplace is monitored, but he does not have to.

Probably not, but organizations typically read email, and can record telephone conversations. Do not expect privacy at work. And don't do anything you don't want your boss to find out about when you are at work. It could come back to haunt you later on.

First of all, I think it is illegal to put cameras in your workplace. It is violating a person's right to privacy and it makes people uncomfortable. Do you want to be surveillance 24/7? However, it is legal to put one in a public place like a subway or a train station.

its not illegal, it is her way of securing her company - just be careful what you say or do or type into your computer - if you are getting paid to work thats what you should do if you don't want to be there find another job - this is just a hint all jobs eventually suck so find something you can be passionate about at least when it sucks you can still feel passionate about it
