What? I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you. My show just went to commercials.

Personally I put the TV on mute and /or do something during that commercial. Not saying I would not by from that company, but I definitely would buy from a company that uses a quiet sutler approach. I think the FCC should have strick guidelines that tell TV stations what db output should be for their regular shows, and that same db level should hold true for commercials also.

I do not enjoy listening to commercials that are much louder than the regular program. I usually mute the television until the show comes back on. Therefore, the people advertising are losing me completely. I would probably listen to some commericials if the volume wasn't so loud that it hurts my ears.

I hate this more than I hate most things. It's just wrong to change the volume of my television, ever, for any reason. It should always remain at the volume I placed it.
As it is now, I'm forced to continually adjust the volume. I'll never pay more to solve this issue. I just keep watching less and less TV.
When are people throughout the enterainment industry going to realize that continually pissing off the customer is not a good long-term strategy. I don't need a high school dropout actor/singer to explain politics to me, I'm not paying ten dollars to watch mindless drivel at the theaters, and I sure as hell don't need anyone messing with my TV volume.

It isn't more effective with me; it pisses me off. No. We should not have to spend extra money to stop the loud volume. As for buying the product, if it's something I'm going to buy anyway, I wouldn't let the loud commercial stop me.

It is not that the TV station turns up the volume. They do not. When the commercial is made it is recorded at the higher decible and the station running it can not control that. As to its effect on me, I mute the commercials.

When a commercial irritates me, I am even more disinclined to purchase their product.
Unfortunately it is a tactic that works, because if the commercial is loud you are bound to look at the TV and you will see what product it is. Even if you don't like the commercial, now the stupid thing is in your brain.

I can't stand it. It's a ploy designed to annoy people who try and ignore commercials.
I was on a cruise to the Bahamas and one night I wasn't feeling well, so I stayed in my cabin. The television stations broadcast the commercials during the last 20 minutes of the hour. The rest of the hour was given to the programs. I liked that.

I HATE it! A number of years ago, the stations were made to bring the volume of the ads down to a respectable level; however, over the years, they have gradually been bringing them back up. I generally hit the mute button.

That's a great question. There are certain companies that have ads that are so loud and/or so annoying that I mute them whenever they come on, and I would NEVER buy their product. I have written nasty letters to certain companies who have had just obnoxious ads- and I have told these companies that because of their horrible ads I will NEVER buy their product. Naturally, they didn't care. But, I tried!

It turns me off! I spend more time trying to turn the volume down then I do paying attention to the commercial.
