What worked the best for me is cleansing products from a company in California called DHC. I had tried everything, ALL the over the counter stuff, even proactive for a year and it didnt really help. A co-worker suggested I try using DHC products because she used them so I decided what the hell it wont hurt anything. I ordered some and my god what a difference. I am not exaggerating either. Most of their cleansing products and also their makeup contain olive oil. Who would have ever thought that putting OIL on your face would clear up acne??? Certainly not me. I could tell a difference in less than two weeks. They are on the web, look them up. they will even send you some free samples first, with out you purchasing anything. Some of their stuff can be a little pricey but it lasts forever. I have had a small bottle of the olive oil cleanser for 5 months, and I use it everyday. I paid about 20.00 for it, but it lasts longer than anything you can buy at the store. I would love to hear back from you if you decide to try it, I want to know if it worked for you too.

I think that they have laser treatments nowadays that can take care of acne. And there are good medicines (creams and pills, by prescription only) out there too, that take a bit of time to work, but they do work. Proactive might work for you too. It was a little too harsh for me personally, but did work for people I know. I'd suggest you meet with a dermotologist and find out what type of treatment would be best for you. Good luck!

Acne is actually your body getting rid of junk through your skin. It helps to drink a lot of water (6 8-oz glasses a day is sufficient, don't overdo it) to flush your system. Be sure to eat right and wash often with gycerin soap, which they sell at health food stores, and failing that, a body-shop/skin zone kind of place.

Well you have bad enough acne, go to your doctor and he will prescribe you antibiotics. Perhaps, if you were like me non of them worked. I finally went on "accutane" but this stuff is very strong and it has serious side effects. it has to be prescribed by your doctor, so talk to him if you are interested. also it is supposed to keep away acne for life. so far its worked for me. the pro activ line works well if you only have mild acne.
