how hard wuld it be? it is a 4cyl 2wd i need more power for more speed it is hard to make it to 80mph unless im going down hill.

it can be done but if you keep the computer controls on the engine a wiring harness and ecm swap will also be needed

You should be able to drop in the v6 without too much trouble they sell these in the rangers as an optional upgrade on the motor. The v8 maybe a little trickier do to space requirements in the engine compartment. It would probably require more modifications along with changes to your suspension to handle the extra weight.

It would be easy to transplant a small block 289 and a different trans in. Depends on the trans as if it needs to be replaced. I would mod one from a Mustang with a shift in the floor.
