A contract that is not written is an oral contract. Some contracts (e.g. real estate) must be in writing. Oral contracts are enforcable but can be hard to prove if you don't have witnesses and the other party says there was no contract or that the terms are different than you say they are.

People frequently refer to "verbal" contracts but that means a contract made using words so the only contract that isn't verbal would be one made using hand gestures or bird calls or something.

I've never heard of anyone reffering to a "Mouth to Mouth" contract. Could you be meaning a "Verbal" contract or "Verbal" agreement? If so, it's only as good as the people making the promises. Get it on paper - signed, witnessed, and notorized.

Yes its called a Verbal contract. Thats when 2 people agree to maek a statement using their trust and their words.

example: If I tell you that I'm going to sell you my car for 1,000 dollars and you tell me o.k and we arranged to meet at some random place than thats a mouth to mouth contract.

Are you talking about an oral contract as opposed to a written contract? These do exist although they are sort of difficult as you cannot prove the terms of agreement.
