My friend just graduated from highschool this year. She never seems to be happy with herself. She says she thinks this summer is boring. My thought is: shouldn't be out partying and celebrating after being a highschool graduate? Anyway, she is always complaining. I talked to her on the phone and she's never happy. She doesn't like any movies that are coming out when I asked her if she wanted tyo go see a movie. She thinks they are all lame and boring? Pirates of the carribean? How could that be boring? She says she is nervous about going to college becuz she thinks she might get in a lot of fights. She is sort of annoying but I dont like to hurt her feelings and tell her the truth. She always complains about her life! Why cant she act normal for once and stop trying to be a overachiver all the time by pleasing herself?

She's probably just really nervous about being grown up. If you are truly her friend then talk to her about how she's feeling. If not, tell her how you feel. Good luck.

I can tell you're a good friend 'cause you care enough to even ask the question.

Your friend isn't a loser, yet, but she will be if the people that are closest to her and love her the most don't confront her.

An analogy:
If you have a piece of mucus sticking out of your nose, you can't see it without a mirror or without someone telling you. How would you feel if you walked around all day with it sitting there and no one bothers to tell you? A so-called friend who sees it and doesn't care enough to tell you so that you can clean it off is not a good friend.

Confront your friend. She might get mad at you, at first, but she'll appreciate you later.
And if she doesn't appreciate the fact that you loved her enough to tell her, then you don't really need her as a friend anyway.

I bet you your friend is very bright. This is kind of a hard world to be really happy on. After all our continued existence is extremely threatened and I dont find the pirates of the caribbean wildly relevant in my life either. She probably has something important to do thats calling her other then college and she doesnt know what it is yet. Maybe you could be a real friend and help her find it.

she is not a loser....she's just making herself frustrated by trying to be an overachiever. She should dedicate some time to herself and the 2 of u could go out and see a movie that she likes. or go somewhere else that she likes. u 2 could trade off like that.

It's just depression, you need to be there for her even if it's hanging out in her room doing absolutely nothing. Just tell her don't be afraid of life, we all have our ups and downs and through all it I am going to be there for you, so don't you worry! Then try to get her out of the house to have some fun. ^_^

Let her sulk by herself. You can only try to help so much. You made the invite, now the rest is up to her.

maybe the way she is acting, is due to the reason that she just graduated, sometime it can be difficult, because you leave behind, your childhood, and your parties, and friends, ask her if this is what is happening???, maybe she feels old
